Oh yah, i have a blog.

So I have not touched this thing for .. ... oooo.. lets say, 2 years?  I think I am going to pick up the blog and get all introspective on myself.  Or just show off photos... who knows.  

I am back in Harrisonburg after a 2 month 'Cmas vacation'.  I am not even going to get into that, to much happened to write about it.  I am back in the burg to finish 1 CREDIT.  My very last credit before I can receive my expensive degree.  Pre-algebra... should be a good time.

Artist Statement:

This book exists because two crazy people, who I call my parents, moved to Ecuador, a country I could not have pointed out on a map. The experiences I've had, the relationships I've built, and places I have seen will shape who I am for the rest of my life. If I can show just an ounce of the value I have found living in this country, I will be happy. The extreme geographical differences are great subjects to show some of the physical and cultural diversity of Ecuador.

These pictures are a sequence taken from the city of Quito, to a town named Tena in the Jungle. I have taken this drive many times, and every time I cannot believe how many eco systems and beautiful things I pass. In a three-hour drive there are bare grassy mountains, pointed volcano peaks, low foliage with palm trees jutting out, the jungle, and a few different steps in-between. I have added text to share what I think of when seeing these images, and to perhaps point out something that was not seen.

A Simple Ode to the 110

When I was little I found a camera in my dad's desk drawer, a pentax 110. A tiny SLR with a flash on it larger than the camera. He had used it to document his travels around europe when he was 22 years old. Back then 110 film was easy to get, and film itself was the only way to capture a picture. Now, this 110 film is slowly being pushed out. Kodak has stopped making it and Fuji will soon stop as well. It is a dieing form and when it dies, the use of my camera will be gone.

I am in the process of taking 110 pictures to put in a book as an Ode to this wonderful camera.
